I’m not a super poppy person when it comes to music.  I hardly listen to the radio for this reason.  BUT;  please,  please,  please watch this Lady Gaga video for her new song ‘Bad Romance’.  Yes she dresses weird and is/isn’t as crazy as she looks, but man-alive I am grateful for something different.  A blogger recommended this and thats how I came about it, immediately thereafter I proceeded to watch it about ten times in a row.

Song; beautiful

Video; beautiful

Sentiment; beautiful

kinda reminds me of early breakthrough Madonna…

I’m working on it Jenny, you’ve set the bar pretty high, though!  I’m learning that there are many more options than just Cut, Copy & Paste….

maybe this one?

maybe this one?

is this better?

is this better?

OK, I think I know what I did wrong.  I’ll try again (when I’m not at work!)

so it’s been a great festival season so far. Candler Park was fun and worth it. It was nice to get back into the swing of things after taking the summer off.

This weekend (10/24-25) is the Autumn Fest in Avondale Estates. Jason has been working on A LOT of new stuff and we’re excited about the debut of key chains, necklaces and (hopefully) t-shirts. We will definitely have t-shirts by Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp and Holiday ICE.

As much as we both stress out in the days before and setting up that first morning, we really do enjoy the experience. Jason has so much fun drawing customs monsters/robots for folks and even if a show isn’t profitable, there is such potential for making new friends and learning more about try to make it as an artist.

Mmmm, this post seems to be strictly informative but not about me. I’ll work on that. Sorry I’ve been away for so long but I have big plans for LTWATC so I hope you stick around.

Even though I’m not vah-klempt, please do talk amongst yourselves and leave some comments letting me know that the middle-aged unemployed naked man in Tulsa isn’t the only one reading…

Damn Skippy! (an epilouge to ‘Red Shoes’)

“To remind yourself that, while God may count every hair on your head, you’re really not important enough for the color of your shoes to wreck anything that matters.”

Isn’t this the best sentiment?  And perfect for a Monday morning.  The whole philosophy of ‘don’t sweat the small stuff; and it’s all small stuff’ is easier to embrace as you get older, I’ve found.  But that quote from http://www.writingyourwaytojoy.blogspot.com/ really sums it up.  Somebody embroider that on a pillow!

While red shoes can’t wreck anything, I firmly believe they can make any situation more fabulous.  Think about it, you’re caught in the rain, wearing nothing but a trench coat (hello!), hair plastered to your face/head/neck, but if you wore red shoes, you could still show up at your intended destination and laugh it off!  Had you worn brown shoes that day, then you would’ve been pissed.

I guess while you shouldn’t sweat the small stuff you should also embrace the little things that can make a big difference.  Be it shoes, a good shampoo, the perfect pillows for your couch, being the only one to see a woodpecker or hummingbird, seeing a stranger helping someone out, picking up the garbage that missed the can, watching all the flowers/leaves blow off a tree on a blustery, sunny day, surprising someone with a cup of coffee or being surprised when someone brings you a cup of coffee.  I think those moments are the meaning of life.  We work really had and maybe suffer a lot, but those moments of oneness and connection are the reward for it all.

Hope you experience that today….lemme know if you do/did/have.

I wasn’t willing to sacrifice my baby toe for the pumps, but man alive I love those shoes.

Why did you let me get away with neglecting to post a pic the first time around?

These aren’t exactly the same but you still get a feel for what my little tootsies would have said to me if they weren’t about die from compression injuries….

And since my toes were visible, I always felt like I needed to get a pedicure, but I think red toes AND shoes would have detracted from the hotness.
